Tech & Mobile Benefit

The Tech Benefit is a salary sacrifice benefit that enables employees to save 8% on the cost of electronics, white goods and mobile phones, whilst spreading the cost over 12 months.

How does it work?

Employees give up part of their salary in return for a tech product. As the employer, you pay for it upfront and deduct the cost over 12 months from their gross pay. Employees on the basic rate of tax save 8% on the product, via an National Insurance saving.

Why should I offer the Tech Benefit to my employees?

A new mobile phone or an unexpected bill like a broken washing machine can set employees back hundreds, if not thousands of pounds. Our tech benefit is a zero-cost solution that enables employees to save and avoid debt at the same time.

FAQs

Who supplies the products?

Our tech benefit is powered by Currys vbusiness. Everything in the Currys’ store is available through Tech benefit.

How does approval work?

You set the parameters beforehand and dictate who qualifies for salary sacrifice, how much they spend and when. We also enable manual approval.

How does the Tech Benefit differ to others on the market?

Our tech benefit is entirely digital and fulfilled by Currys. Employees place orders via our online store which get delivered to their home address. We don’t provide vouchers or use complicated forms.

What level of admin is involved?

We make administration incredibly simple: you’ll receive notifications and can easily review each request as it comes in. Alternatively, you can set up benefits windows in advance to streamline the process, allowing requests to be bundled together for even greater efficiency.

How does the National Insurance saving work?

Employees can take advantage of this benefit through a salary sacrifice agreement, which allows them to save up to 8% on their National Insurance contributions, depending on their tax rate.

Who is eligible for this benefit?

As our tech benefit is a salary sacrifice benefit, only those above the minimum wage qualify. Beyond that, it’s up to you as an employer to set the eligibility rules. For example, you may wish to exclude those on probation.
